LED PAR64 Bulb Replacement

751-1005 Bulb

Par64 Bulb

OVERVIEW

Hoffman Performance Lighting has introduced the first ever PAR64 LED Landing Light; a drop-in replacement for existing Q4559 and Q4559X quartz halogen lamps. The ruggedized PAR64 is used on a wide range of commercial, civil, law enforcement, aero-medical, and military aircraft. With FAA approval pending, this new landing light technology meets or exceeds all FAA and MIL specifications and is fully qualified to RTCA DO160, MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461, and other requirements for both fixed-wing and rotor-craft applications.

Hoffman’s PAR64 LED Landing Light is rated for more than 50,000 hours of operating life and maintains over 600,000 candela output over its entire service life. In comparison, the output of the incandescent bulb degrades quickly over the service life of the lamp, losing as much as 50% of initial output in the first 30 hours of a bulb’s 100 hour rated operating life.

The innovative control electronics, ruggedized housing and LED design of Hoffman’s PAR64 solve inherent incandescent design concerns such as abbreviated service life and premature failure due to extreme temperatures, shock, vibration and weather that result in costly service delays. This new LED Landing Light consumes only 10% of the power required by current sealed-beam lamp technology. Operating at 80% efficiency, and losing just 20% of its energy as heat, the PAR64 LED design eliminates the possibility of structural damage to aircraft bodies from thermal radiation.

The PAR64 LED Landing Light consumes only 60W of power compared to the 600W required for incandescent landing lamps. This reduced draw results in lower energy consumption and increased savings across an aircraft fleet. The LED Landing Light also provides a significantly higher color temperature light output and superior brightness, improving aircrew visual acuity and aircraft visibility.

Designed as a direct drop-in replacement to Q4559 and Q4559X lamps, the PAR64 LED Landing Light is easy to install and requires no airframe modifications or training for maintenance. The lamp assembly is ROHS, WEEE and REACH compliant, recyclable, and free of toxic chemicals. Designed for safety, the PAR64 features three independent LED light sources to provide triple redundant reliability in the event of an LED failure. The protective lens is UV resistant, hard-coated, and shatterproof.

KEY FEATURES

  • Extremely durable
  • Life span average of 50,000 Hrs
  • Only 60 watts power usage

Reliability

  • Unlikely failure
  • Redundancy due to multiple LED segments

Portable Low Profile Floodlight

Hoffman’s Portable Floodlight

1289889785_723-1151 floodlight

OVERVIEW

The power-pack provides a Velcro attachment, which may be temporarily installed on the glareshield while the floodlight is similarly installed in the glareshield to flood the instrument panel.

This highly versatile instrument panel floodlight may be used as a renewable substitute for light-sticks. While many aircraft crewstations are awaiting full NVIS modifications, NVG missions must be flown in a safe lighting environment. Hoffman’s portable floodlight is a MIL-STD-3009 compliant substitute for single use light-sticks. The lightweight power-pack contains four “AA” batteries and a potentiometer, which provides full dimming to zero with a tactile “off” position to preserve battery life. Following NVG missions, the pair may be taken from the aircraft and stored for future use. The light is available in compliant Green A or NVIS White.

Cap Lights

NVIS LED Post Light Cap

723-1099-001

OVERVIEW

These post light caps use a white LED and either an NVIS White or Green-A filter to provide NVIS compatible lighting for aircraft instruments.

The ballast resistor needed to operate at either 28 VDC or 5 VDC (or 5V, 400 HZ.) is internal to each unit and the operating voltage is indicated on the side of the hood. The LED source produces a more efficient and reliable lighting product than an incandescent bulb as well as offering a vastly extended life. The bellows style contact is designed to allow for spring contact wear in older aircraft and should prevent most intermittent conditions previously caused by uneven lamp contact. Hoffman LED Post Light Caps may be retrofit into currently installed incandescent post light bases as a direct replacement.

Please note: Mixing LED sources with incandescent and using existing dimming circuits may cause uneven dimming because of the lower current requirements of the LED. In 5 Volt circuits, experience shows this to be less of a problem. If there are doubts about your circuit, please consult with Hoffman Engineering.

LED Non-Indexed Bayonet NVG Lamp

723-1244 Bayonet Lamp

721-1185-001 bulb

OVERVIEW

Model #723-1244-001

LED Non Indexed, SC Bayonet Based, NVG COMPATIBLE, Substitute for MS35478-305, 307 and 311R Incandescent Lamps.

Many older aircraft utilize dual purpose, two lamp light fixtures for general area illumination. These fixtures contain both red and unfiltered white lamps. Most are S-8 305 or 307 types with 307R or 311R in the red position. The red was used for night operations. Today much of that work is accomplished while wearing, or near those wearing, Night Vision Goggles (NVG). These goggles will not tolerate red light. Now the user can substitute the 723-1244-001 for the red lamp, making the light fixture NVG compatible without rewiring or adding a switch to the aircraft. Some users have opted to also replace the white lamp with our 721-1185-001 (NSN 6250-01-549-4683) for greater light, longer life and less current.
