NVIS Mil-Spec Glass Filters: Hoffman provides a full spectrum of precision monolithic glass NVIS filters, all of which meet or exceed MIL-L-85762A and other night vision specifications. These filters offer high stability under adverse environmental conditions, and are available in both standard and custom configurations.

NVIS Plastic Filters and Films:  In addition to our glass filters, we offer a wide range of Night Vision Plastic Filters and Films that, depending on the application, can offer both "Mil-Spec" or "NVIS-Friendly" performance.  Plastic filters are highly economical for both OEM applications and retrofits of "in-service" aircraft.  Films offer  extreme flexibility and are ideally suited for IR suppression of emissive displays and avionic instruments.  Plastic filters and Films are also available in both standard and custom configurations.

Nightshield®:  In 2001,  Hoffman Engineering and Korry Electronics entered into a unique marketing agreement allowing Hoffman to offer Nightshield® as one of our many NVIS filter solutions.  Nightshield® is a proprietary plastic NIR rejection filter manufactured by Korry Electronics. When placed over displays, it removes the NIR component of the display emission but maintains sunlight readability. Nightshield filters are used in many civilian and military applications, including crewstation displays for aircraft and ground vehicles, portable display systems, wildlife surveillance, forest fire surveillance and suppression, search and rescue flashlights, and ophthalmic lenses.

Grommet Assemblies: Hoffman is a QPL source for MS-3498 and MS-25381 grommet assemblies. These assemblies feature a crush-proof panel mounting design that is useful in any plastic panel application. They are manufactured in a wide variety of sizes and colors. Custom designs are available.

Lamp Assemblies: Hoffman Engineering is the licensed manufacturer of lamp assemblies formerly produced by Grimes Manufacturing Co. Assemblies and caps are available in various finishes in accordance with Federal Standard 595.

Panel Hardware and Inserts: All the components for manufacture of embedded and relampable panel are available from Hoffman Engineering. Lamps, lamp filters, heatsinks, inserts, flanges and stainless steel screws are available from our inventory. Hoffman is a QPL source for MS-90335 connectors.
